これはみごとな昆虫学史本.カバージャケットは主人公である昆虫学者 Karl Jordan によるヒトリガ(Arctia caja)のコレクション.学術書の場合,以前なら図書館用ハードカバー版と量販用ペーパーバック版の二本立てだったが,本書はハードカバー版と電子版の二本立てだ.ペーパーバックが電子本に置き換わるという趨勢があるのか.まあ,ワタクシはもっぱら「紙」のハードカバー版を選ぶ人なので,ペーパーバック版が電子本に置換されても大きな影響はないんだけどね.
