祖先塩基配列や祖先アミノ酸配列の推定と復元に関する論文集.祖先復元問題と樹形推定問題よりも“解きやすい”問題ではあるが,応用的にも実用的にも重要な分野だと思う.系統樹を踏まえた推論や考察をする場合,樹形だけでなく,仮想祖先の形質状態が決まっていないと先に進めない論議は少なくない.むしろ,樹形と祖先状態はつねにペアで推定しておく方がのちのちのためには便利だと思う.
