本書で詳述されている「双子研究」の現状については，タイミングよく出た新刊の安藤寿康『遺伝子の不都合な真実：すべての能力は遺伝である』（2012年7月10日刊行，筑摩書房［ちくま新書970］，東京，238 pp., ISBN:9784480066671 → 版元ページ）を前もって読んでおいた方がいいかも．個人的には，IQ論争を含む現代の遺伝決定論の「科学史」に関心がある．グールド，レウォンティン，カミンらの側の本はかなり以前にだいぶ読んだ．もちろん，R. J. Herrnsteinand C. Murray の電話帳『The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life』（1994年刊行，Free Press, New York）も本棚に鎮座している．
