第6章「Writing Journal Articles」の節「Coauthoring Journal Articles」（pp. 101-103）には，共著論文を進捗させる大技小技も紹介されている．共著論文の場合でも基本はひとりで書く．なぜなら「If your collaborator a binge writer, be skeptical of assurances about writing the paper quickly」（p. 102）．共著者の筋が悪いとエライことになるから．「Enthusiasm isn't commitment」― ああ，身も蓋もない．応答が遅い共著者にはデッドラインを設けた上で， “ネルー値” が負になったら即「You're off the paper」（p. 103）とメールすると効果バツグンらしい．
