本書は,2013年11月にロンドンの The Linnean Society で開催されたシンポジウム〈Willi Hennig (1913 - 1976): His Life, Legacy and the Future of Phylogenetic Systematics〉(→ アナウンスプログラム [pdf])を踏まえた論文集だ.『系統体系学の未来:ウィリ・ヘニックの遺産』と題されたこの論文集の版元ページが今年になってやっと開設された.ワタクシの担当章「チェイン,ツリー,ネットワーク:系譜可視化と情報グラフィクスの観点からみた系統体系学の発展」の最終原稿をロンドンに送った昨年5月以来,ずっと首を長くして待ったが,出版時期がやっと確定してよかった.
