本書は，2013年11月にロンドンの The Linnean Society で開催されたシンポジウム〈Willi Hennig (1913 - 1976): His Life, Legacy and the Future of Phylogenetic Systematics〉（→ アナウンス｜プログラム [pdf]）を踏まえた論文集だ．『系統体系学の未来：ウィリ・ヘニックの遺産』と題されたこの論文集の版元ページが今年になってやっと開設された．ワタクシの担当章「チェイン，ツリー，ネットワーク：系譜可視化と情報グラフィクスの観点からみた系統体系学の発展」の最終原稿をロンドンに送った昨年5月以来，ずっと首を長くして待ったが，出版時期がやっと確定してよかった．
