Floyd』（1937年刊行， Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, x+174pp. → 目次）を一般向けに語っている．全体は三部構成で，Part I は総論，Part II は遺伝学への適用，そして Part III は神経学・医学への適用である．本書のもとになった連続講演はケンブリッジのトリニティー・カレッジで一世紀前から続いている伝統ある公開講演会〈The Tarner Lectures〉のひとつである．しかし，「一般向け」とはいえ，いたるところに論理式が散らばっている本書はそうとう手強いと思う．ウッジャー教授の連続講義を当時の聴衆はいったいどのように聴いていたのだろうか．
