マサチューセッツ州リンの古書店〈Saul54〉から着便．どこかの図書館の除籍本．オクスフォード版アリストテレス全集〈The Works of Aristotle Translated into English under the Editorship of J. A. Smith and W. D. Ross〉の Volume IV．『On Growth and Form』以前のダーシー・トムソンは父親仕込みの正統派古典学者だったということをすっかり忘れていた．この『動物誌』には生きものの図がいくつも載っていて，岩波書店アリストテレス全集の『動物誌』とはずいぶん感じがちがうなあ．
