本誌は，SEBA（＝the Systematic and Evolutionary Biogeographical Association）の Bulletin という位置づけです．使用言語は英語・スペイン語・フランス語とのこと．

創刊号を見るかぎり，ラテンアメリカ圏の生物地理学者の層を取り込んだ，ここ数年の歴史生物地理学メディアのひとつかと思われる．編集者（Malta Ebach）および創刊号の執筆者陣を見ればどのような傾向のジャーナルかはすぐにわかるだろう．
